Requirements & Prerequisites

Job Summary: Responsible for the maintenance of the self-serve deli refrigeration and freezer units and bulk storage areas. Also responsible for assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
Reports to: Self Serve Department Head.
Job Duties
Ensures that customers in the Self Serve area are being served in a prompt and courteous manner.
Follows rotation First in and First out of all products in the coolers, freezer and shelving.
Ensures inventory control in the bulk storage facilities (walk-in freezers / coolers).
Supports promotional planning (merchandising, demos, sampling etc.).
Ensures correct signage is used throughout the department.
Responsible for checking invoice accuracy and reporting discrepancies to the Department Head.
Assists with ordering of all self-service deli items.
Assists with merchandising of the self-service deli bunkers.
Assist with receiving and ensuring correct receiving protocols are followed.
May assist with Curbside orders.
Provide ongoing quality control and quality assurance to ensure the best quality product for our customers.
All other duties as assigned by Store Management.

Requirements
Strong customer service and organizational skills are required.
Ability to work independently and part of a team.
Basic math skills are required.
Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the store.
Experience working in Grocery and/or Self Serve is an asset.

Essential Job Functions
Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
Bend and twist the upper body, reach above and below shoulders.
Bend and lift loads, up to 50 pounds.
Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
