Days & Hours of Work: Day Shift is Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm / Afternoon Shift is Mon-Fri, 3:30pm-2am

Note: Overtime is paid after 40 hours and if you work Sundays you’ll receive double time. Group Benefits and DPSP available after 3 months.

 

JUNIOR MACHINE BUILDER (Wage: $22-$26 per hour)

The Machine Builder’s primary function is to build and assemble machinery, pipe fitting, and enclosures. Handle, move, load, and unload material, mostly heavy metal, by hand or using a variety of material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment.

  1. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, product specifications, and understand tolerances to determine assembly operations.
  2. Rig, hoist, move and align simple subassemblies and components to storage areas or within the worksite using overhead cranes and forklifts using established safety precautions.
  3. Fit and assemble simple parts to build heavy industrial machinery and equipment according to drawings and product specifications.
  4. Assist in installing major components such as gears, pumps, motors, hydraulics, fans, generators, insulation, soundproofing systems, and building panels using hand and power tools.
  5. Inspect, test, examine and investigate parts, subassemblies, and finished products to ensure quality and detect irregularities and malfunctions.
  6. Assist in performing on-site installation, servicing, and repair for commissioning or warranty work on customer finished products.
  7. Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed following the Occupational Health and Safety Act and participate in regular safety talks. Perform a visual inspection of equipment, including cranes, forklifts, and other tools, to ensure they are in safe working condition.

 

WELDER (Wage: $29-$35 per hour)

The Welder’s primary function is to weld large and complex structural components and framing based on technical drawings, schematics, welding process specifications, and other documentation in a manufacturing environment.

  1. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and welding process specifications, including the interpretation of welding symbols and tolerances in fractions, decimals, and metric dimensions.
  2. Rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite using overhead cranes and tow motors using established safety precautions.
  3. Set up and operate various heavy-duty metal-working machines cutting using saws, ironworkers, torches, plasma and gouging, manual or semi-automatic welding machines, and grinders.
  4. Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies using GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, or SMAW equipment in flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions to acceptable quality standards.
  5. Layout stitch welds. Weld components with minimum distortion by welding procedure or use of bracing. Heat straightening of weldments.
  6. Removes rough spots from the workpiece using a portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
  7. Provide feedback on design improvements through communication with the Fabrication Supervisor and assist in preparing Engineering Change Request.
  8. Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed following the Occupational Health and Safety Act and participate in regular safety talks. Perform a visual inspection of equipment, including cranes, welding machines, cutters, and other tools, to ensure they are in safe working condition.

 

MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER (Wage: $30 per hour)

The Mechanical Assembler’s primary function is to build and assemble machinery, pipe fitting, and enclosures. Handle, move, load, and unload materials, mostly heavy metal, by hand or using a variety of material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment.

  1. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, product specifications, and understand tolerances to determine assembly operations.
  2. Rig, hoist, move and align larger (up to 40 tons) subassemblies and components to storage areas or within the worksite using overhead cranes and forklifts using established safety precautions.
  3. Fit and assemble simple and complex parts to build heavy industrial machinery and equipment according to drawings and product specifications.
  4. Install major components such as gears, pump, motors, hydraulics, fans, generators, insulation, soundproofing systems, and building panels using hand power tools.
  5. Thread and install piping and pipe spools using engineering assembly drawings.
  6. Install/bend mechanical tubing from engineering assembly drawings.
  7. Inspect, test, examine quality and defect irregularities and malfunctions.
  8. Perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair for commissioning or warranty work on customer finished products.
  9. Provide feedback on design improvements through communication with the Supervisor and assist in preparing Engineering Change Requests.
  10. Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed following the Occupational Health and Safety Act and participate in regular safety talks.
  11. Perform visual inspection of equipment, including crane, forklifts, and other tools, to ensure they are in safe working condition.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Prerequisites

JUNIOR MACHINE BUILDER:

  1. Apprenticeship in Industrial Mechanic Millwright preferred.
  2. Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a heavy industrial equipment environment, preferably within the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or Mining sectors.
  3. Ability to travel within North America with a valid passport and driver’s license.
  4. Must have own tools.

 

WELDER:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of equivalent work experience in a large/heavy custom steel fabrication environment.
  2. Preference to a graduate from a credited Welder Fitter program and/or completion of college or vocational/technical training.
  3. Valid and current CWB Welding Tickets are mandatory.
  4. Previous experience working within an ISO9001 environment is preferred.
  5. Must be familiar with all position welding and a variety of welding processes (i.e., GMAW, FCAW, SAW)
  6. Must be able to work to close tolerances.
  7. Should be able to lift Max 50lbs.
  8. Trade Tools: Weld Helmet, Chipping Hammer, Side Cutters, Wire Brush, Vice Grip Clamps, Tool Box.

 

MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER:

  1. Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a heavy industrial equipment environment, preferably within the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or Mining sector.
  2. Experience with overhead
  3. Must have own tools.
