Job Description

We are looking for a Duty Officer / Administrator to join our dynamic team in the Operational Control Center. If you are looking for a challenge and enjoy working in a fast-paced, exciting environment, we would love to meet with you! On the job training is provided!

The successful candidate would be responsible for the following:

  • Setting itineraries and schedules; managing air ambulance transfers
  • Dispatching flight crews
  • Arranging ground ambulance, fueling, Customs, aircraft handling, crew hotel rooms, commercial flight booking, taxi and limousine services in conjunction with air ambulance transfers
  • Communicating with customers/clients with a very high degree of professionalism, courtesy and sensitivity at all times
  • Receiving and processing transportation requests from clients
  • Providing air ambulance quotations (as required)
  • Flight following, completing and filling out forms
  • Logging and detailing all information; storage by hard copy and data base
  • Working seamlessly with flight, medical, maintenance, customer service and accounting personnel
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required

Days & Hours of Work: You will work 12-hour shifts. Schedule is 2 days (7am-7pm), 2 nights (7pm-7am) and then 4 days off.

Compensation: Starting at $50K per year with progressive increases

Requirements & Prerequisites

  • Fluent in English (required); Bilingual/fluent in language other than English considered an asset
  • Administrative work experience in the fields of transportation, travel, dispatch, medical or other related industries would be considered an asset
  • Education/Training/Certification in Flight Dispatch is an asset
  • Knowledge of geography within North America and/or worldwide an asset
  • Strong computer skills including typing, navigating different programs and sending/receiving a high volume of emails
  • Ability to deal with people professionally and tactfully at all times
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong problem solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Able to deal well under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Able to work shift rotation as set out by the company including Statutory Holidays/Weekends
  • Must have G2 or higher license and be able to provide own transportation to and from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (public transportation is not available for all shift times)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination required
