About Good Shepherd
The work of Good Shepherd is based on a fundamental belief in providing hope and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable members of our community. Our services include emergency food and clothing; daily hot meals; emergency shelters for men, youth, families, women and children; transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. Job Description
In this role, you will work to make a difference in the lives of adolescent mothers and their children living at Regina’s Place – Youth Services.
- Services to clients include assessment, crisis prevention and intervention
- Provide supportive counseling, education, advocacy
- Involvement in social/recreational programming, life skills teaching i.e. cooking
- Assist with providing linkages with other community services

Requirements & Prerequisites
Qualifications
- Primary case management and community development skills acquired through a post-secondary education in social services such as Child and Youth Worker or Social Service Worker
- A demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, responsibility, adaptability, quality and dignity are required
- The successful candidate will possess experience working with adolescent mothers and children, knowledge of the Child and Family Service Act and a proven ability to work independently
- Proficiency in French and/or another language other than English is an asset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential
- The ability to complete housekeeping/cleaning duties in a residential setting is required
- Certification in CPR or a willingness to be certified is also required
- A valid driver’s license is also required
- Weekends and Rotating Shifts
