Job Description

The Elizabeth Fry Society Southern Ontario Region provides diverse services and supports primarily to women who are, have been, and those at risk of being criminalized. We empower women and advocate social change to reduce the impact of that criminalization. We offer individual and group services, crisis intervention, release planning, court support, referrals, and community education.

The Caseworker for the STARS program will run a drop-in program and engage in community collaboration and outreach for women and gender diverse sex workers and human trafficking victims/survivors. This position will run Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12:00-5:00 pm (may change depending on programming needs). This is a contract position that is *6 months in length with the possibility of extending which is dependent on funding. Hourly wage for this position is $22.47 per hour.

The Caseworker will provide a safe, inclusive space, provide resources, support, education, safety planning, referrals, harm reduction and hygiene products.


Requirements & Prerequisites

This position requires extensive knowledge in community agencies, the V.A.W. sector, criminal justice system, harm reduction, addictions, human trafficking and sex work. You will provide a trauma informed lens, and a strength-based approach to marginalized women in the sex trade.

To be successful in this role you will hold a university degree or college diploma in Addictions, Community Services, Social Services Worker/Social Work, or Criminal Justice Services. You will possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle, provide an up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Check, First Aid/CPR certified, and certified in crisis and de-escalation techniques (PMAB, CPI, and/or NVCI). Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination required.
