Position Description: Reporting to a Regional Manager, the Researcher, Health Care (hereafter referred to as Research and Policy Developer) will lead an internal project focused on building best practices for Indwell around assisting our tenants with aging in place. The person who takes on this role and project will look at collecting, organizing, developing and disseminating information within the organization as it pertains to supports provided around seniors’ care. Reporting and working as part of an Indwell team working group, the Research and Policy Developer has research functions pertaining to both routine operating processes, both internal and external, in addition to specialized evaluation.
Location: Simcoe, ON, option for remote work
Hours of Work: Full time, 30 hours per week. This is a temporary contract, ending after 12 weeks (subject to approval).
Duties for this position include:
- Extensively research Aging in Place as it pertains to Indwell (e.g., mission, values, history, model, etc.) and create an organizational case statement that helps internal stakeholders to communicate more clearly and consistently with the broader community about the work we do in this regard.
- Engage tenants in the active process of assessing health, wellness, and belonging. This will be done through community research and engagement.
- Develop best practices and guidelines for program staff that will allow for the creation of further support services that support tenants aging in place.
- Complete required reports in a timely manner in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Conduct research on current legislation as required.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and other agency meetings as required.
- Be available to conduct internal training as requested.
- Other duties as required.
Remuneration: $17/hr.; hours and position length subject to approval of Service Canada – Canada Summer Jobs.
Requirements & Prerequisites
Requirements: The successful candidate should demonstrate a warm, sensitive, and caring approach, the ability to work independently, be flexible, organized, responsible, and take initiative. Must have strong problem-solving skills, be able to maintain good interpersonal relationships and have a genuine interest in supporting people living with mental illness.
As a health care provider, Indwell requires evidence of Full-Covid 19 vaccination.
Education/Experience: Minimum high school diploma, currently completing post-secondary education. Priority given to those with post-secondary education in research, housing, or healthcare.
