Position Description:  Working as part of a creative team and reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, the Community Engagement Assistant will assist with many aspects of fundraising and community engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and launching several major events.
  • Participate in community events.
  • Prepare updates for social media, including making videos.

Hours:  40 hours a week, with flexibility required. Primarily weekdays, with occasional evenings or weekends required. This position is a temporary contract, ending after 12 weeks (subject to approval).  

Remuneration: $15.00/hr.; hours and position length subject to approval of Service Canada – Canada Summer Jobs.


Requirements & Prerequisites

Requirements:

  • Experience in planning events to engage participants and raise funds.
  • Committed to upholding and modeling the standards set out in the organization’s Mission Statement, Code of Conduct and other operating standards and policies.
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible, organized, responsible, and take initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, especially in email and social media content creation.
  • Experience in video production an asset.
As a health care provider, Indwell requires evidence of Full-Covid 19 vaccination.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ideal candidate will have training and/or experience in event planning, marketing, or communications.
  • Candidate must qualify for age requirements set by Canada Summer Jobs (18-30 years old).
  • Must be able to lift 20 kg
