Roofer:

Our company is currently looking for experienced Roofers and Labourers looking to become a team member with a COR Certified Flat Roofing Company.

Job Details:

The specialized roofing trade requires workers to install a durable waterproof membrane on flat commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.
Location: Hamilton, ON
Start date: As soon as possible
Position: Full-Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Install, repair or replace conventional 4 ply (built up roofing) systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.

– Install, repair or replace modified bitumen (mod-bit) roofing.

– Install, repair or replace single ply roofing systems, using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics or asphalt compositions.

– Install, repair or replace metal roofing using hand and power tools.

Essential Qualifications:

– 2-3 years experience with flat roofing/labour

– Able to work quickly and efficiently with minimal direction

– Working at Heights Certified (preferred)

– Basic English required

– Hoisting and Rigging (preferred)

– First Aid Certification (preferred)

– WHMIS (preferred)

– Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications, erect and install scaffolding and other work platforms.

– Ability to lift 100lbs.

Conditions of Employment:

– Achieving the goals and objectives stipulated in performance appraisals.

– Observing the company’s safety practices and procedures at all times, without exception.

– Arrive to work on time, wearing of personal protection equipment and having the required tools for the assigned worksite project.

– Working long or unusual hours during the peak season, often in inclement weather. This includes but is not limited to: overtime, early morning, morning, day, evening, weekend and flexible hours.

– Fast paced environment, physically demanding, handing heavy loads, large workload, repetitive tasks, hand-eye-coordination, work under pressure, bending, crouching, kneeling. Sites can be noisy, dusty and dangerous.

– Being in good accord with colleagues and seeking dispute resolution through the offices of human resources or company safety officers.

– Representing the company with professionalism in dealings with clients and the public. This includes the airing of personal views about the company while employed with us.
