Outreach Kitchen Supervisor
Job Description
De Mazenod Door Outreach, a registered charitable non-profit organization and ministry of St. Patrick Catholic Church located in Inner-City Hamilton is currently seeking a skilled and confident individual for the position of Outreach Kitchen Supervisor. This position is to provide support to staff and volunteers working within a fast paced commercial kitchen setting, preparing meals for marginalized and impoverished individuals. Description of Position
• To work along side staff, volunteers and students as well as to help oversee the daily running of the De Mazenod Door Kitchen
Structure
• Reports to Outreach Coordinator
Responsibilities
• Understanding the importance of processing times, customer service, organization & flexibility
• Preparation and overseeing of meals twice daily
• Daily set up of Outreach kitchen
• Weekly purchasing and pick-up of supplies
• Act as staff lead
• Collaborate with Outreach Coordinator to ensure efficiency
• Ensure meals are prepared and ready for large groups of people
• Ability to work with vulnerable people
• Monthly menu planning
Requirements & Prerequisites
Qualifications
• Excellent leadership skills
• Excellent verbal and communication skills including E-Mail program
• Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals
• Ability to delegate all required tasks to volunteers
• Ability to interact with clients and de-escalate situations
• Culinary experience is an asset
• Able to work in and see over a fast paced program
• Clean Drivers Abstract with full Class ‘G’ Driver’s License
• Up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Education
• College Certificate is preferred, but not mandatory
How To Apply
Hours
• Full Time Position – 40 hours per week
• Work hours – 7:00-3:00 Monday to Friday and/or occasional weekends
Compensation
• Compensation – $45,760, annually
• 3-Month Probationary period
• Benefit Plan and Pension available following period of probation
• Compensation is established as part of an annual performance review
