At Humble Bee we produce high quality hive products using ecologically sound practices. We use a decentralized production system with dozens of urban, rooftop and rural yards across the greater Hamilton area. We put Bee health first in our practices and manage our hives organically. Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of our beekeeper you will assist with care and monitoring of our colonies at our yards located on private properties situated across the GHA. Other duties such as:
- Honey and beeswax processing
- Equipment building and maintenance
- General shop maintenance
Requirements & Prerequisites
Experience
We are looking for someone who has worked within agriculture, or a similar industry such as; construction, woodworking, or the restaurant industry.
Skills
- Positive attitude: respect for the bees, the land, yourself and others
- Able to lift hives (50+lbs)
- Strong dexterity
- Self motivated: ability to be productive while working alone
- Strong observation skills with keen attention to detail and quality

Schedule:
A typical shift is 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with seasonal fluctuations common with beekeeping. You will need to work some mornings evenings/weekends and have days cancelled due to adverse weather.
Term:
The position commences in April and concludes in November with the possibility of extension.
Compensation:
$17-20 per hour
