Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton, a ministry of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, strives to enhance the quality of life for all who seek assistance and support in our community. An opportunity currently exists at Notre Dame Youth Resource Centre in the role of:
Program Manager of the Notre Dame Youth Shelter, Community Resource Centre (CRC) and Notre Dame House School
Temporary Full Time Position
(Up To March 31, 2020 with the potential to be extended)
Reporting to the Director of Youth Services, the Manager the Community Based Programs will be responsible for, Community Resource Centre (CRC) the manager will be involved in both the development and provision of programs and front line services to street involved and homeless youth through the Good Shepherd Notre Dame House. The Manager will be responsible to provide oversight and coordination of the daily Case management and life skills programming for youth. Notre Dame Community based Programs offers services to street involved and homeless youth, working poor youth and youth who are precariously housed. Program Manager will supervise front-line staff: , Youth Housing Support Team, Youth Trustee, Community resource center youth support worker School Support, Early intervention Program, Youth Reconnect program staff etc. The Program Manager will work directly with other members of the Youth Services management team and will be responsible for on call in a rotation. This position also requires oversight of reporting data and outcomes on a monthly and quarterly basis. The Program Manager will work closely with community partners, be responsible for community development and coordination and assist with program evaluation.
The successful candidate for this position must be available to fulfill on-call responsibilities and to work a flexible schedule.
Requirements & Prerequisites
Related post-secondary degree or diploma
5 years of experience in Social Services Field
Demonstrated ability to work within an anti-racism/anti-oppression framework
Three years supervisory experience
Demonstrated commitment to the values and mission of Good Shepherd Centres
Knowledge and experience working with youth experiencing mental health concerns, substance use issues and concurrent disorders
Knowledge of homelessness and housing barriers
Experience working with street-involved and homeless youth
Demonstrated knowledge of community resources
Fluency in a second language is considered an asset
Valid driver’s license required
