Job Description

Reporting to the Melt Shop Supervisor, the Overhead Cab Crane Operator’s duties and responsibilities will include some of the following:

Must be able to operate overhead cab cranes to lift, transport and position material/equipment safely, effectively and responsibly in a heavy industrial environment.
Complete inspection reports and maintain housekeeping of cranes being operated.
Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including wearing PPE.
Perform other tasks and duties associated with the job.

Requirements & Prerequisites

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

The successful candidate must possess a Secondary Diploma or Equivalent.
Demonstrate at least 5 years of crane experience or operating heavy equipment in a steel manufacturing environment
Shows an understanding of cranes and the ability to work within precise limits and standards of accuracy (lifting capabilities, weight restrictions, etc.).
Must be able and willing to work a variety of shifts, including nights as well as overtime as required.
Proven ability to learn new things and be flexible in response to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
Exhibits a strong attention to detail in all areas of work.
Takes initiative and is able to work independently or as part of a team.

This position pays $22.84 per hour and a shift premium is paid to employees working the afternoon shift ($0.35) and ($0.55) working the night shift. Valbruna ASW Inc. offers an excellent benefits package, including health insurance and pension plan.
