Kitchen Supervisor – Job Description

Job Brief
We are looking for an experienced Line cook or previous kitchen manager (Sous Chef, Chef de Partie) with a desire to step into a leading role. Producing high quality plates with both design and taste and ensuring that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards.
The successful candidate will employ its culinary and managerial skills to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out the preparation and cooking of our menu as well as assisting and mentoring the culinary chefs in cooking the same
• Maintaining the food quality and commercial viability of the food simultaneously, making sure that the food served to the customers is of top quality, yet commercially feasible for the restaurant
• Managing the inventory and other kitchen supplies, applying safety measures for the staff, and monitoring the kitchen hygiene
• Scheduling kitchen staff shifts, arranging / rescheduling their shifts as per kitchen requirements, and handling the dispute amongst the staff members
• Training the kitchen staff on health and security measures, and food quality maintenance
• Following and implementing uniform procedures in the kitchen, encouraging staff to maintain healthy uniform habits as per the reputation of our kitchen
• Promoting disciplined working habit for carrying out quick and speedy cooking procedures in peak working hours i.e. during lunch and dinner time
• Providing positive leadership to kitchen staff, working smartly for making quick decisions in favor of commercial success of the restaurant, and improving the kitchen performance
• Working closely with and being accountable to the Manager on duty

Experience
• 3-5 years Kitchen experience
• Minimum 1 year in Junior management role or higher
• References required
• Food Handlers Certification
