Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton, a ministry of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, strives to enhance the quality of life for all who seek assistance and support in our community. An opportunity currently exists at The Good Shepherd Centre in the role of:

Men’s Emergency Shelter Support Worker

Full Time

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of hospitality, availability, responsibility, adaptability, quality and dignity with a demonstrated knowledge of issues related to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, substance use/addictions and developmental disabilities.

Applicants will require professionalism and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities will include direct client contact in all aspects of service necessary for the comfort and safety of individuals accessing shelter services.

The successful candidate will possess related post secondary education and/or experience working with vulnerable individuals together with knowledge of area social service agencies and community resources. Fluency in a language in addition to English is an asset. CPR Certificate (or willingness to be certified) will also be required. Must be available to work shift rotations including weekends.
