Youth Addiction Support Worker
Temporary Full Time (Up to March 31/20)
The successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity. Youth Addiction Support Workers will function as a member of the Notre Dame House Youth Support Worker team and will have primary responsibility for working in collaboration with community-based addiction workers in identifying youth who are impaired by drug/alcohol use, facilitating crisis intervention as required and facilitating both the short term and longer term service needs of the youth served. This is a night shift position with rotation through weekdays and weekends.
Qualifications:
Preferred candidates for the above positions will be knowledgeable of and have experience working with transitional age, street-involved and homeless youth. A post-secondary degree/diploma in social work/social services, concurrent addiction services or a related diploma is required. Demonstrated knowledge/experience of working with transitional-aged youth, youth homelessness and substance use/abuse is required. Experience working in a residential setting is an asset. Fluency in French and/or another language(s) is also an asset. CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required. Hours of work are will primarily rotate between 9pm to 4:30am Sunday through Thursday. The position will may also require weekends as needed.
