Job Description

Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes Hamilton, a ministry of the Brothers of the Good Shepherd, strives to enhance the quality of life for all who seek assistance and support in our community. An immediate opening exists in our Housing Department in the role of:

Building Superintendent
Full Time

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity. The Building Superintendent will be responsible for building systems, minor maintenance of units, unit turnovers, cleaning of buildings including use of floor machines, garbage, recycling and responding to emergencies. There will be no office or Tribunal responsibilities. The building superintendent will be required to live on site.

Qualifications:
Preferred candidate for the above position will have experience in building maintenance/systems and cleaning. Attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast paced work environment are essential. The Building Superintendent will be required to be on call for tenant emergencies 24 hours while on duty. Experience working with tenants who are experiencing mental health and or addictions issues is considered an asset. Personal lived experience in addictions, mental health and an understanding of the journey of recovery is considered an asset. Fluency in second language is considered an asset. Adults only Building.
