Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes Inc. Hamilton, a ministry of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, strives to enhance the quality of life for all who seek assistance and support in our community. An opportunity currently exists to join our Housing Department based out of our Emmanuel House Hospice as a:
Temporary Part Time Cleaner
(Weekends – 3 Month Contract)
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of hospitality, responsibility, availability, adaptability, quality and dignity with sensitivity to diversity when interacting with the Emmanuel House residents and families. The Cleaner enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients through the assumed responsibility for cleaning services in accordance with the Role Description, as well as maintaining adequate supplies related to cleaning.
Requirements & Prerequisites
Qualifications:
Cleaning experience in a residential and/or palliative care setting (preferred) with good working knowledge of appropriate health and safety practices following WHIMIS. Position will be required to use infection prevention practices related to environmental cleaning when completing daily cleaning of resident rooms and common areas. Taking out garbage and recyclables as per the role description. Good written and oral communication skills are a necessity. Will be required to perform other duties related to Emmanuel House as directed by the Director of Hospice Palliative Care Services. Must be able to work every Saturday and Sunday and be available to cover for Full Time cleaner during vacation periods.
