Job Description

• Demonstrate and apply knowledge of child development
• Provide experiences that engage children in active, creative and meaningful exploration, play and inquiries.
• Ensure the health, safety and physical well-being of the children and support children’s healthy development
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
• Broad understanding of current childcare issues, particularly children from diverse economic backgrounds and those with special needs and their families
• Flexible work schedule


Requirements & Prerequisites

• RECE designation; member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
• Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certification
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with young children and their families
• Experience with infants, toddlers and preschoolers will be an asset
• Working knowledge of emergent curriculum, ELECT and HDLH Principles
• Excellent professional and best practice skills with colleagues, families and other professionals
• Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a committed and dedicated team
• Friendly and sensitive individual that can relate well with children, staff and parents.
• Ability to carry out the physical duties and tasks of a child care’s daily routines and schedule
