Job Description

We are currently hiring for multiple positions: Roofing Labourer & Roofing Shingler

Labourer:

  • Loading truck in the morning and unloading at end of shift
  • Lay down tarps on grass/shrubs and surrounding landscaping
  • Use ladders to carry bundles/roofing materials up to the roof
  • Clean up garbage/debris on the grounds at the end of shift
  • Use magnetic broom to sweep for nails on the property

Shingler:

  • Work on roofs to replace shingles and install all roofing materials

 

Wage: Labourer: $20-$25/hour; Shingler: $30-$40/hour

Hours / Week: Approx. 30-40 hours per week (weather dependent)

Days & Hours of Work: Typically Monday – Friday; Start time: 6:30am (meet at the shop); Approx. End time: 3:30-4pm (depending on the job); Occasional Saturdays may be required due to weather conditions during the week


Requirements & Prerequisites

For both positions:

  • Must have your own reliable transportation to and from the shop address
  • Must be physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting as well as be on your feet all day – this is physically demanding work!
  • Must be reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Working at heights and fall safety training certificates required (or must be able to obtain these certificates before starting work)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (e.g. hot sunny days in the summer)
  • Good customer service skills; be respectful/polite to customers and answer their questions

 

Labourer: No experience in this field required; Employer is willing to train

Shingler: Must have prior experience in this field (ideally 2-3 years)
