Job Description

We are actively seeking Safety Watch Personnel to start training in November 2025, in preparation for the summer season. Safety Watch Personnel are responsible for working with restoration companies to lift the levels of health/safety on their teams by doing the following;

  • Monitor safe working habits of specific job operations and equipment
  • Conduct daily inspections of the work area and regular site hazard assessments
  • Conduct drills, safety meetings, and inspections
  • Monitor emergency planning zones and potential hazards; conduct stop work procedures in high risk or hazardous situations
  • Operate fire extinguishers, hydrants, fixed monitors, hose carts and other industry specific equipment when required
  • Ensure constant communication and visual contact is being maintained throughout procedures and operational tasks
  • Performing duties such as confined space watch, spark watch, area watch and breathing air watch
  • Walking stairs and slopes, working at heights, being outside in inclement weather (hot, cold, sun, rain, snow), lifting and carrying objects (up to 40 lbs), lifting and using safety equipment, driving, standing for extended periods of time, frequent walking (sometimes on uneven ground), etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Prerequisites

  • MUST be clean shaven during training and while working on site
  • MUST be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
  • MUST be able to push/pull tools and other objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Have reliable transportation to and from site
  • Ability to travel and work in remote areas for extended periods of time
  • Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both day and night shift
  • Safety conscious and an ongoing fitness to work in a safety sensitive role

All successful applicants will be enrolled in our comprehensive safety program to ensure our Safety Watch personnel are competent in providing high caliber safety support to our on-site customers. This is an exciting opportunity to begin or advance your career that will include;

  • Successful completion of our SWIP training program
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level A or C
  • Computer and internet access for online training

The following abilities and certifications considered strong assets;

  • Availability to accept overtime hours
  • Bilingualism in English and Spanish
  • WHMIS, Working at Heights, Elevated Platform Training, Hazard Awareness, Asbestos / Mold Awareness, Ladder Safety / Scaffolding, Biohazard, PPE, Emergency Evacuations
