Job Description

We are looking to hire a Medical Office Assistant for our Optometry Clinic.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
  • Schedule and confirm appointments using electronic medical records system
  • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member
  • Assist with patient registration and insurance verification
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up appointments
  • Handle billing and insurance claims processing
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents

Days & Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm

Wage: $18/hour and up, based on experience

Requirements & Prerequisites

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a medical office or similar administrative role is preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and phone systems
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly and professional demeanor
