Job Description

Position Overview:

  • Permanent, Full-time position
  • Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm – Overtime when required
  • Location: Stoney Creek
  • Wage: $27 -$30 per hour
  • 3 weeks’ vacation
  • Benefits and company matched RRSP program after 6 months
  • Weekly pay

Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee performance to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Develop and maintain positive employee relations
  • Analyze and resolve work issues and assists employees in solving work related issues
  • Work proactively to ensure department deadlines are met.
  • Operate sheer and brake presses
  • Interpret engineering drawings and work orders to understand order requirements and ensure that all production activities are aligned
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment is maintained and all operations are in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company policies.
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve department production methods, equipment performance, worker performance and quality of product.
  • Collaborate with other department Lead Hands to ensure positive inter departmental relations, smooth processes, problem-solving, and provide back up when away
  • Conduct performance reviews and ensure team members adherence to policies and procedures
  • All other duties as required

Requirements & Prerequisites

Requirements and Skills:

  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a metal manufacturing environment or similar setting
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other MS Office programs
  • Experience using an ERP, NetSuite preferred
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Good knowledge of health and safety standard
