Job Description

We are looking for an individual to join our Quality Control team. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring each batch of product has a consistent quality by conducting analysis, testing and reporting back to the Quality Assurance Manager. Documentation of testing procedures, methodologies and criteria is crucial in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Testing – performing all tests per SOPs in a timely manner so as to not disrupt production
  • Quick communication with the QC Manager of any out-of-spec results that occur, and placing these on hold where applicable
  • Instrumentation – keeping all instruments cleaned and calibrated as per SOPs, and recording cleaning and calibrations in the associated logs
  • Reporting any operational issues with instruments to the QC Manager
  • Record keeping – ensuring records of all tests are accessible and kept up to date
  • Assisting in the creation and/or approval of SOPs
  • Training new staff, when applicable

Requirements & Prerequisites

  • Have strong computer skills, Office 365 and Google Workspace
  • Have flexible availability, and can work regular early morning starts
  • Have close attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment, and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Enthusiastic, team orientated, and a quick learner
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, as well as in a team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
  • Ability to problem solve effectively and handle multiple tasks

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6 months of brewing, wine, distilling or spirits experience

OR

  • A background in biology with a year of lab experience minimum

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of professional brewery experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or any other related field
  • Relevant Quality Control experience in a food production environment
