Job Description

Local Hamilton Thrift Store is seeking a Manager of Stores.

Wage: $42k – $45k, depending on experience

Days & Hours of Work: Tuesday – Saturday, 9am – 5pm

  • Responsible for all aspects of employment for the staff as well as the volunteers, including scheduling, task assignments and performance reviews.
    • Ensure that all personnel are fully aware of their responsibilities by sharing their expectations with them.
  • Responsible for store operations including:
    • The layout of the stores
    • Managing store inventory to maximize sales.
    • Arranging deliveries and pickups by store-owned truck
    • Assessing sales performance
    • Advertising of flash sales and similar events through Facebook and other social media
    • Responsible for some of the banking procedures, such as bank deposits and account reconciliations

Requirements & Prerequisites

  • Able to oversee daily store routines and to make sure they are carried out regularly and properly
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in store management
  • Knowledge of merchandising in a thrift store setting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of providing excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Must be available to attend a 1 1/2 hours evening meeting 4 times a year
