Job Description
Local Hamilton Thrift Store is seeking a Manager of Stores.
Wage: $42k – $45k, depending on experience
Days & Hours of Work: Tuesday – Saturday, 9am – 5pm
- Responsible for all aspects of employment for the staff as well as the volunteers, including scheduling, task assignments and performance reviews.
- Ensure that all personnel are fully aware of their responsibilities by sharing their expectations with them.
- Responsible for store operations including:
- The layout of the stores
- Managing store inventory to maximize sales.
- Arranging deliveries and pickups by store-owned truck
- Assessing sales performance
- Advertising of flash sales and similar events through Facebook and other social media
- Responsible for some of the banking procedures, such as bank deposits and account reconciliations
Requirements & Prerequisites
- Able to oversee daily store routines and to make sure they are carried out regularly and properly
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in store management
- Knowledge of merchandising in a thrift store setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of providing excellent customer service
- Knowledge of basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Facebook, and Instagram
- Must be available to attend a 1 1/2 hours evening meeting 4 times a year
