Job Description

Machine Shop Labourer
Days & Hours of Work: Monday to Friday; 7:30am to 4:00pm; 40 hours/week
Wage: Starts at $17.51 – $18.54 (Depending on experience)
Benefits: After 3-month probation period

The successful candidate will be able to set and run all types of machinery, including CNC (computer numerically controlled) machines.  They should also know how to use tools for shaping, cutting, bending, and boring as well as have the ability to make, fit, and assemble parts. It is important that the candidate be able to measure sizes and distances to accurately lay out work pieces and that they can work both independently and in a team setting.

  • Fabricate and assemble components into larger sub-assemblies
  • Utlilize hand-held tools such as drills, grinder, saws and impact guns
  • Operate machine equipment to fabricate aluminum companents (Press brake, Shear, Vertical CNC)
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

 

General Repair Technician
Days & Hours of Work: Monday to Friday; 7:30am to 4:00pm; 40 hours/week
Wage: Starts at $17.51 – $18.54 (Depending on experience)
Benefits: After 3-month probation period

The successful candidate will be familiar with general repair work and will have good technical abilities.  A knowledge of types of power tools, the ability to problem-solve, and a technical understanding of how things work will be necessary to be effective in this position. The ability to disassemble and reassemble parts would be a definite asset.

  • Perform all types of Tarp System repairs and maintenance as required by the customer
  • Assist in fabrication of jigs, fixtures, and other aids to assist with Tarp System repairs
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting experience for mechanical, electrical and process related problems on trailers and tarp systems
  • Welding experience an asset
  • Preventative maintenance experience in facility operations, equipment and proficient in the operation of hand tools
  • Computer and administrative skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment showing a sense of urgency in work practices
  • Ability to do basic electrical problem solving
  • Working experience in the transportation, transport and trailer repair industry would be extremely beneficial
  • Experience in diagnostic, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment while complying with all company policies and procedures

Requirements & Prerequisites

  • The employer’s organizational COVID-19 protocol based on Ontario Health Standards must be followed, but COVID-19 vaccination is not required
  • Welding experience preferred
  • Previous experience with electrical and pneumatic hand tools
  • Basic reading skills. Must be able to read and follow directions (English)
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly once trained
  • Ability to read CAD drawings for assembly
  • Regularly lift 50 – 70 pounds
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks
  • Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
