The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) is a community-based natural resource management agency that works to protect, enhance, and sustain healthy watersheds. With 60 years of experience, the NPCA offers watershed programs and services that focus on flood and hazard management, source water protection, species protection, ecosystem restoration, community stewardship, and land management.

The NPCA is one of 36 Conservation Authorities in the Province of Ontario. With 41 Conservation Areas within the Niagara Peninsula watershed, the NPCA manages lands that are held in public trust for recreation, heritage preservation, conservation, and education. Summary of Duties

The Assistant Water Resources Technician holds an important organizational role as a team member responsible for assisting with the program implementation of the Water Resources Department. This position is funded in part through the Canada Summer Jobs program and candidates must be between the ages of 15-30 and eligible under this program: (have Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or Refugee Protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; have a valid social insurance number; and be legally entitled to work in Canada).

Duties and Responsibilities

The Assistant Water Resources Technician will assist with:

(a) The collection, entry, and analysis of water resources data, which may be related to one of more of the following: groundwater, surface water, geomorphology, meteorology, water quality (benthics and chemistry), and water quantity
(b) Use and maintenance of specialized equipment in the collection of the data
