Program Coordinator: HOPES (Housing Outreach Preventing Eviction for Seniors) (CUPE 5167)
Job Description
St. Matthew’s House seeks a Program Coordinator for its HOPES (Housing Outreach Preventing Eviction for Seniors) who is responsible for accepting intake referrals to determine appropriate programs to support clients, including Crisis, HOPES, Community Outreach. In addition, the candidate is required to have a sound knowledge of community resources, partnerships and services for seniors, in order to create a holistic, collaborative approach with these services and supports. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for the planning of outreach activities and facilitating access to supports to prevent homelessness among older adults living in poverty and at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. Experience with CHH, Landlord Tenant Board Tribunal process, evictions specific to aging populations, proficient in Excel, virtual and phone communication, case noting, excellent time management, customer service and client advocacy are must haves. 80% Remote and 20% On-site or in community.
Requirements & Prerequisites
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a community service based non-profit organization, preferably in a role that works with vulnerable seniors. The successful candidate must possess a Diploma in social work/social services or gerontology. A valid certificate – Standard First Aid with Level C CPR, a clear criminal reference certificate and a Vulnerable Sector Screen are required.
