Job Description

Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton, a ministry of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, strives to enhance the quality of life for all who seek assistance and support in our community.

Notre Dame House provides support to homeless youth ages 16-21, including youth who have ongoing contact or involvement with CAS/CCAS/Probation/Youth Justice System/ AY/ADGS and other family counseling agencies. Staff members support clients to reach personal goals and to have a satisfying and meaningful life in the community. An opportunity currently exists at Youth Services – in the role of:

Relief Kitchen Aide / Cleaner

Position responsibilities include:
– Assisting with serving and clean-up of lunch and dinner meals.
– Food preparation
– Regular cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment.
– Inventory tracking of supplies.
– Regular cleaning of dorms, offices, bathrooms and community spaces

Qualifications Required:
– Current Food Handler’s Safety Certification
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
– Ability to work within an anti-oppressive framework
– Prior experience working in a food/cleaning related setting is an asset.
– The ability to speak French and/or other languages in addition to English is a definite asset
