Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Dishwasher to support the dietary team at a retirement home in Ancaster. You will help keep the kitchen clean, organized, and ready to provide residents with a positive dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Operate the commercial dishwasher according to established procedures.
- Store clean dishes and equipment in designated areas.
- Clean countertops, sinks, dishwashing stations, and kitchen floors.
- Remove garbage and recycling and maintain clean disposal areas.
- Assist with clearing dishes and basic kitchen tasks as directed.
- Follow food safety, infection prevention, and workplace safety procedures.
- Report equipment problems or safety concerns promptly.
Requirements & Prerequisites
- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred; retirement home experience is an asset.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and willingness to support the team.
- Ability to perform duties involving standing, bending, lifting, and moving kitchen supplies.
- Availability for scheduled shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to complete any screening and onboarding requirements established by the retirement home.
