Job Summary

The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and facilities in a safe, clean, and well-functioning condition. This position performs routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep to ensure a comfortable experience for guests and a safe working environment for employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel and guest rooms.
• Complete basic painting, touch-ups, drywall repairs, and wall patching.
• Replace light bulbs, fixtures, switches, outlets, and other basic electrical components as permitted.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, including unclogging drains, replacing faucets, and fixing minor leaks.
• Repair or replace doors, locks, handles, hinges, furniture, and other fixtures.
• Perform basic carpentry and furniture repairs.
• Inspect guest rooms and common areas for maintenance issues and address problems promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, appliances, HVAC systems, and other facilities.
• Maintain pools, grounds, parking areas, and exterior areas as assigned.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
• Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures and properly use tools, equipment, and cleaning or maintenance materials.
• Report major repairs, safety concerns, or equipment failures to the Maintenance Supervisor or management.
• Assist outside contractors and service technicians when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work and repairs.
• Perform other general maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel maintenance, building maintenance, or handyman experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies when required.
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and work in various physical conditions.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Physical Requirements

The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing ladders, and lifting or moving maintenance equipment and supplies. The employee must be able to safely perform routine maintenance tasks throughout the property.
