Job Summary
The Hotel Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms and hotel public areas. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to providing excellent guest service.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and assigned public areas.
- Make beds, change linens, replace towels, and replenish guest amenities.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and clean surfaces and fixtures.
- Inspect rooms to ensure they meet the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or lost property to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow hotel health, safety, sanitation, and security procedures.
- Handle cleaning supplies and equipment safely and appropriately.
- Respond courteously to reasonable guest requests.
- Maintain housekeeping carts and supply areas in an organized condition.
- Complete assigned rooms and tasks efficiently within scheduled timeframes.
- Protect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or hotel experience is preferred but not always required.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift or move housekeeping supplies as required.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions
This position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. Housekeepers may work around cleaning chemicals and must follow all applicable safety procedures.
