Job Description
We are looking for a motivated, punctual and detail-oriented individual to join our manufacturing team. This role is essential in assisting the production of high-quality fiberglass products while gaining hands-on experience in the fiberglassing process. As a fiberglass labourer, you will work under the supervision of experienced technicians to develop your skills in fiberglass application and maintenance.This role involves a variety of tasks, including preparing materials, assisting with molding and laminating processes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Compensation: $20-$25 based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Material Preparation – Assisting in measuring, cutting, and preparing fiberglass materials (mats, cloth, etc.) according to production specifications.
- Molding and Laminating – Helping with the application of fiberglass materials onto molds, ensuring proper saturation with resin and proper layering to achieve the desired shape and thickness. This might involve smoothing out wrinkles, removing air bubbles, and using tools like squeegees.
- Reinforcement – Assisting in the bonding of wood or other reinforcing materials to the fiberglass structure using resin-saturated fiberglass.
- Cutting and Trimming – Using hand tools or power tools to trim excess fiberglass material from molds or finished products.
- Clean-up and Maintenance – Maintaining a clean and organized work area by removing scraps, dust, and other debris. May also assist with minor repairs and maintenance of equipment.
- Quality Control – Participating in quality control checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
- Safety Compliance – Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Operating Equipment – Some positions may involve operating basic equipment like mixing machines or dispensing units.
- Inventory Management – Helping to manage inventory of materials and ensuring adequate supplies are available.
- Loading and Unloading – Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials and finished products.
- Repair Work – May be involved in minor repairs of fiberglass products, such as patching or filling.
Requirements & Prerequisites
Required:
- Physical stamina – The ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, able to lift over 50 lbs occasionally.
- Attention to detail – Accurate measurement and cutting of materials, as well as careful attention to detail during the lamination process.
- Following instructions – Ability to understand, communicate and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Understanding of English is a safety requirement due to the chemicals/products used.
- Must provide own safety boots, all other required PPE will be supplied by the company.
- WHMIS, working at heights and confined space training an asset but provided as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with fiberglass materials and tools.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and safety equipment used in fiberglassing.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality assurance processes.
- Forklift operations/license an asset.
- Driver’s license is an asset
- Experience with specific fiberglass fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures.
