Licensed Pest Control Technician
Job Description
A licensed Pest Control Technician inspects, identifies, and treats residential or commercial properties for pests (insects, rodents, wildlife) using chemical and non-chemical methods. They apply pesticides safely per regulations, set traps, install barriers, and advise clients on prevention, while maintaining, detailed service records.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection: Survey buildings, interiors and exteriors to identify pests, nesting sites, and damage.
- Treatment: Mix and apply pesticides (sprays, gels, dusts) using sprayers, foggers, and bait stations.
- Customer Service: Advise clients on sanitation, structural repairs, and preventative measures.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to Pesticide Act regulations, label instructions, and safety protocols (PPE).
- Documentation: In Pest Boss TM Record chemicals used, quantities, and locations treated for compliance amount of infestation and how prepped they were for the treatment. Taking and including pictures at times in the report.
Requirements & Prerequisites
Required Qualifications & Skills
- License: Valid Ontario Exterminator licence – Structural Pesticide Exterminator Licence.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Driving: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge: Understanding of pest behavior, habitat, and chemical safety.
