Shipper and Receiver
Job Description
The Shipper and Receiver is responsible for coordinating the accurate and efficient shipping and receiving of goods in a manufacturing environment. This includes verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing shipping documents, inspecting materials, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The role supports production by ensuring materials are available when needed and finished goods are shipped on time to customers.
Jayne Industries Inc is currently seeking to fill the current vacant position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments of raw materials, parts, and supplies; inspect for damage, quantity, and accuracy.
- Unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verify packing slips, purchase orders, and other documentation against received goods.
- Label, sort, and deliver received items to appropriate departments or storage locations.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to customer and carrier requirements.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with couriers, freight carriers, and logistics providers for pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments in ERP or inventory systems.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with regular inventory audits.
- Keep shipping/receiving area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Requirements & Prerequisites
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience including domestic and international logistics.
- 3-5 years of inventory experience
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Be a self starter, have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational, time management and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Safe operation of Overhead Crane
