Job Description

About Us: We are one of the largest and most advanced waste management operators in North America, processing over 900,000 tonnes of waste each year. Operating 19 sites across Canada and the United States, we produce more than 550,000 tonnes of finished compost and generate over 85,000 GJ of Renewable Natural Gas, equivalent to taking 27,000 cars off the road. We recycle and recover approximately 90 percent of the organic waste we receive, helping to drive meaningful change toward a more sustainable future.

As the Contracts & Accounting Coordinator you will be responsible for the efficient management of financial, administrative, and operational functions within the organization, specifically supporting soil management contracts for Hydro One and the tracking and sale of finished compost.

Here’s what an ordinary day of work might look like:

  • Prepare and submit project invoices and maintain accurate sales quote records for Hydro One contracts.
  • Compile quarterly financial reports and perform month-end reconciliation of project costs and revenues.
  • Assist with analysis, cost estimation, and execution of soil management contracts.
  • Process accounts payable for finished compost and Hydro One project expenses.
  • Manage accounts receivable for compost sales, including maintaining and reconciling sales tracking records.
  • Generate and distribute customer and intercompany invoices.
  • Process employee and personal expense reimbursements with accurate reconciliation.
  • Support research initiatives, proposal development, and documentation for environmental and agronomic projects.
  • Coordinate logistics and oversee material processing and movement across projects, verifying data through scale tickets and related records.
  • Report to the Controller while supporting monthly Hydro One reporting, month-end close activities, and year-end audit preparation.
  • Support workplace health and safety programs through inspections, coordination of initiatives, and administration of safety testing.

This is a Hybrid role. This position will report to the Controller.
