Position Summary
Employment Hamilton is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Administrative Assistant to support the organization’s financial and administrative operations. This role focuses on accurate data entry, financial record maintenance, and administrative support to the finance function in a high-volume environment.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, comfortable working with numbers and databases, and able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary Contract
Contract Term: Until March 31, 2027
Location: In Office – Hamilton, ON
Key Responsibilities
Financial Administration
- Enter and maintain financial data with a high degree of accuracy
- Process invoices, expense claims, purchase documentation, and reconciliations
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Assist with tracking program expenditures and documentation for funder reporting
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
Data Entry & Reporting Support
- Perform high-volume data entry related to financial and administrative records
- Verify, audit, and correct data discrepancies
- Assist with generating routine financial and administrative reports
General Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager and management team
- Maintain filing systems in accordance with financial controls and policies
- Adhere to privacy, confidentiality, and internal control requirements
Requirements & Prerequisites
Required Qualifications
•Minimum 2 years of experience in finance administration or accounting support
•Demonstrated experience with detailed, high-volume data entry
•Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial spreadsheets
•Experience working with accounting or financial management systems
•Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience in a non-profit or publicly funded environment
•Familiarity with Ontario employment-services or funder reporting requirements
•Experience supporting audits or financial reviews
