Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Summary: Under the direction of the Manager, Residential Operations, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day service/maintenance task delivery and customer satisfaction required in connection with the property and tenants of the designated properties.
What you’ll get to do:
- Perform service tasks, maintenance, and operations including, but not limited to preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, inspections and tours of equipment, systems, and areas
- Administer work order system and perform repair/service and ensure all work is completed within a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and code requirements within the scope of services
- Perform regular inspections of all operating equipment and systems and daily inspections of all common areas
- Liaise and meet with service contractors as required
- Assist with monthly building inspections
- Monitor inventory and maintenance supplies
- Knowledgeable with Fire safety, HVAC and security systems
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements & Prerequisites
Who You Are:
- Minimum 3-5 years building maintenance experience
- Additional educational or trades courses an asset
- Demonstrated basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills
- Knowledge and expertise with general tools
- Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations
- Positive team player who can work readily under own initiative with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to set and exceed established goals, schedules and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong initiative to take direction, apply learnings, and execute requests
- Detail and customer service oriented
