Hospital Housekeeper
Job Description
The Hamilton Wentworth Detention Centre is seeking an individual to perform housekeeping services and supervise staff and inmate cleaners in practical aspects of institutional housekeeping.

What can I expect to do in this role?
As Hospital Housekeeper, you will:
• supervise staff and inmate cleaners in housekeeping practices
• demonstrate the proper use of cleaning equipment and methods of cleaning
• conduct regular inspections of cleaning areas
• ensure that standards of economy and sanitation are maintained by establishing practices and procedures
• recommend cleaning program changes
• assign duties, coordinate schedules and monitor the work of cleaning staff
Requirements & Prerequisites
How do I qualify?
Mandatory Requirement:
• you have completed of the Ontario Hospital Association Housekeeping Supervisor Course or have equivalent experience
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
• you have demonstrated knowledge and experience in institutional housekeeping practices and procedures
• you have experience in coordinating housekeeping activities
• you have knowledge of institutional security practices and procedures
Other Essential Skills:
• you can provide direction and guidance with housekeeping practices
• you use your interpersonal skills to interact with staff and inmate cleaners when responding to housekeeping duties
• you can conduct the quality control of housekeeping practices and assess the conduct of staff and inmate cleaners
• you use your planning and coordinating skills to ensure that housekeeping services are provided in a timely manner
