Senior Woodworker / Joiner
Job Description
We’re a custom architectural millwork shop with a focus on windows, doors and heritage restoration. Seeking a skilled and experienced woodworker/joiner able to meet our high standard for fit, finish and build quality. Will be responsible for supervising and training junior staff.
This is a real woodworking gig. We work with solids all day long. The successful candidate will enjoy working with wood and trouble-shooting the myriad problems that arise when working on century homes.
This is not a beginner woodworking position. We’re looking for someone who knows wood well, has a developed ‘inner engineer’, and enjoys many aspects of top shelf, real woodworking. You don’t have to have been a door builder before, but you’d better be doing consistent high-level work for this to be the right fit. Our current senior builder spent 16 years as a boat builder before starting here; the boss is obsessed with chair-making and green woodworking. We’re all near obsessed with most every aspect of good woodworking. It’s challenging work, but it sure isn’t boring!
