Inventory Control Specialist
Job Description
Summary: The Inventory Control Specialist will bring unwavering professionalism and meticulous accuracy to the position and has exceptional math and observation skills. The specialist shall work closely with our Manufacturing Process Engineer to improve existing control procedures, prevent loss and occasional do some heavy lifting. The specialist shall ensure accuracy of inventory records and assist in cycle counts.
Job Details:
- Location: 400 McNeilly Road, Stoney Creek, ON.
- Hourly Wage: $23 – $25 depending on experience.
- Schedule: 44 Hour work week (7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays).
- Some Saturday work available on a volunteer basis.
- Benefits: Company-paid group medical, dental, and insurance after probation.
Job Duties:
- Digitally manage inventory and as required create inventory reports
- Confirm product required for upcoming production is on-hand in advance of production start
- Reconcile inventory differences between physical stock and digital data
- Ensure transfer of inventory within ERP system is correct
- Prevent shortages of supply or manage unexpected shortages
- Participate in resolving inventory issues
- Assist Manufacturing Process Engineer in developing new and improving existing control procedures
- May operate forklift or powered pallet jack truck to move freight (depending on skill and experience)
- Liaise with Production, Purchasing and Receiving Departments.
Requirements & Prerequisites
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years previous inventory control experience
- Proven knowledge of inventory, supply chain, and production control processes in a manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong analytical and query skills to investigate, comprehend and drive resolution of all aspects of material and supply chain issues
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and coordinate activities
- Competent user of Microsoft Office tools with an emphasis on Word and Excel,
- Team player attitude with a high sense of urgency to respond to time-sensitive issues
- Action oriented/results driven
- Experience in the windows and doors industry is an asset
- Forklift and/or powered pallet jack experience would be an asset.
