Job Description

• Developing performance measures, data collection, visualization, analysis and reporting strategies to evaluate progress on the ministry’s anti-racism action plan

• Delivering initiatives that continue to build anti-racism competency across the ministry
Please note: This position is located at 400 University Ave, Toronto; however, alternate work arrangements may be available. This competition will be used to create a pool of talent to fill immediate and future opportunities.
What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• Collaborate across government on performance measures, data strategies and research with an emphasis on outcomes for Indigenous, Black and Racialized communities
• Compile, synthesize and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to inform evidence-based decision-making
• Prepare reports and briefing materials which concisely present socio-demographic data
• Conduct program services and policy research/analysis, environmental/jurisdictional scans, needs assessments and project work to identify relevant trends/issues related to anti-racism, inclusion, diversity, and equity
• Develop action plans and work on solutions to identify issues, create policy and program options and conduct comparative analyses related to anti-racism, diversity and inclusion
• Prepare and support the development of a variety of documents, including policy papers, issue review papers, research papers and other documents within the ministry
• Provide advice and assistance to other advisors and staff when participating in/coordinating joint projects and assignments
How do I qualify?
Research, Evaluation and Data Delivery Skills
You can:
• Use quantitative and qualitative research methods including environmental scans to conduct research and analyses of trends, gaps and issues
• Apply sound judgement, sensitivity, and a high degree of political acuity
• Assess the effectiveness of strategies, policies and programs against ministry initiatives and goals
• Interpret and apply program services and its operations, policy, procedures, and legislation
• Perform as a Data Steward in supporting day to day management of data assets and ensure the quality and integrity of data
• Use software and digital methods to organize, communicate and visualize data
Diversity and Inclusion Policy Expertise
• You have experience analyzing, developing and implementing policies, programs and initiatives using Anti-Racist theories and principles, human rights and anti-oppression framework in the area of equity, diversity and inclusion
• You can develop standards, performance indicators, benchmarking, monitoring and evaluation strategies to measure performance
Project Management and Leadership Skills
• You can lead projects and work planning independently from initial concept through completion within specific timelines
• You can provide project leadership to support the direction of the ministry
• You have experience providing leadership in strategy and policy development, delivery, and implementation
Relationship Management, Interpersonal and Communication Skills
You can:
• Create and maintain cross-functional relationships at the Ontario Public Service (OPS), ministry and local levels
• Provide advice and information to stakeholders on policy options
• Prepare and present complex reports and correspondence (e.g. briefing materials, Cabinet committee submissions and policy papers)
• Work collaboratively to resolve issues, and negotiate changes and shifts in priorities
• Lead consultations with stakeholders ensuring a shared understanding
