The work of Good Shepherd is based on a fundamental belief in providing hope and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable members of our community. Our services include emergency food and clothing; daily hot meals; emergency shelters for men, youth, families, women and children; transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. Job Description
In this role, you will work to make a difference in the lives of tenants living at Mathias Place.
- Provide tenants with primary case management and community resources
- Services to tenants include assessment & planning
- Provide crisis prevention and intervention and supportive counseling
- Demonstrate commitment to the Good Shepherd mission values of Hospitality, Responsibility, Availability, Adaptability, Quality and Dignity
Requirements & Prerequisites
Qualifications
- A post-secondary education in social or health services
- A minimum of three years’ experience in mental health, and concurrent disorders is required
- ‘Recovery orientation’ and ‘consumer driven’ style of practice is essential
- Possess the ability to work independently and think creatively
- Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset
- CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
- Adhere to working and operating within an anti-racism and anti-oppression framework
Hours of Work: Must be able to work weekends (Saturdays & Sundays)
