Youth Addiction Support Worker – Part-time

 (Friday/Saturday – rotating nights)

$19.75/hr

Job Description

  • Demonstrate a passion to the mission; values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity
  • Primary goals are working in collaboration with community-based addiction workers in identifying youth who are impaired by drug/alcohol use, facilitating crisis intervention as required and facilitating both the short term and longer-term service needs of the youth served
  • Develop positive relationships and provide knowledge based on education and experience working with transitional age, street-involved and homeless youth

Requirements & Prerequisites

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree/diploma in social work/social services, concurrent addiction services or a related diploma is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience of working with transitional-aged youth, youth homelessness and substance use/abuse is required
  • Experience working in a residential setting is an asset
  • Fluency in French and/or another language(s) is also an asset
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required

Must be available to work every Friday and Saturday. Hours of work are will primarily rotate between 9pm to 4am and 4am to 12pm.  The position will also require weekends as needed.
