Linen Services Division

Every day, the work we do helps people who are being cared for in hospital. A warm blanket for a sick child. Clean sheets for a grandmother. Sterile drapes to make the operating room safe for a Mom having surgery.

As part of our team, you’ll be performing a important service to ensure Ontario hospitals have the linens they need for their patients – all laundered to the highest standards. It’s part of a commitment to quality we began almost 50 years ago.

The Mohawk Medbuy Linen Services Team has to meet high standards and follow strict infection control guidelines. Our team of almost 300 people meet that challenge at our state-of-the-art, automated health care laundry facility where they sort, wash, dry, fold and pack 30 million pounds of linen for “just-in-time” delivery to hospitals every year.

About the Position

Looking for a position that offers considerable hours and great pay? The General Linen Worker opportunity might be just the thing. Our facility operates seven days a week, and we offer schedules for days and afternoons.

Great Hourly Rates & Other Benefits!

• Competitive Wages starting at $19.60 per hour.
• After completion of your probationary period, 12% percentage in lieu of benefits will be added.
• Shift Premiums of $0.75/hr for Afternoons and $0.90/hr for Weekends

Here’s What You’ll Do:

• Load and unload washers & dryers
• Sort/separate linen before washing
• Safely operate washers, dryers, ironers & folders
• Professionally pack linen for delivery
• Inspect and report any damaged equipment and supplies
• Maintain a clean & safe work environment

• You’re able to stand and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
• You can handle some heavy loads as you process linens
• You’re tolerant of general industrial conditions like equipment noise and a non-air conditioned environment
• You enjoy working as part of a professional team supporting healthcare and are committed to safety and quality
• You have good verbal and written communication skills (English)

Which Shift Schedule is Best for You?

• Hospitals don’t close – so we’re open 363 days of the year
  (traditionally closed Christmas and New Year’s Day)
• We need you to commit to straight shifts; either Days or Afternoons or Nights
• Days: 6:30 am to 2:30 pm (working every other weekend, On-Call)
• Afternoons: 3 pm to 11 pm (working every other weekend, On-Call)
