Job Description

Organizational Overview:

The employer is a back-office support services company based out of Hamilton, ON. The employer is currently seeking a Senior Bookkeeper. This is a permanent full-time position, with a salary ranging between $47,000 – $50,000 per year.

 Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for:

  • Full cycle bookkeeping and payroll duties
  • Bank and credit card statements reconciliation
  • A/R & A/P reconciliation
  • Day to day journal entries
  • Preparing year end accruals and financial statements
  • Submitting monthly reports to clients as needed
  • Filling HST, WSIB, EHT, Source Deductions, GST, PST, WSIB returns etc.
  • Preparation of T4s, T4As and T5018s, also ROE’s
  • Maintaining accuracy of information and filing systems
  • Communicate with accountants, CRA agents, and US state tax officials.
  • Support and manage associates as required

Requirements & Prerequisites

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in full cycle bookkeeping for different market sectors
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, Dext and Plooto is essential
  • Proficiency in QBD, Sage, Xero, Wave, Zoho, Buildium and Protax are advantages
  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment with deadlines to meet
  • Experience in corporate and individual tax filing an asset
  • Financial analysis experience an asset
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
