Financial Accountant- Full Time

Hamilton, ON – Resource Centre

Position Description:  We are seeking an energetic and experienced Financial Accountant.  He/she will report to the Financial Controller and will be a key part of the Finance team. This role makes a real difference to achieving Indwell’s mission.  It is vital to maintaining relationships and reporting requirements for our key funding stakeholders.  It also supports our program and department leads in making good decisions by providing timely and relevant financial information.

Hours of Work:  Full Time 5 days/week at the Hamilton Resource Centre with some flexibility to work at home.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • All Ministry of Health Reporting
  • Managing audit of MOH Reporting with external auditors
  • Grant Set Up in Software, Grant Report Preparation, and analysis
  • Budget to Actual Variance reporting for each dept
  • Responsible for the personal lender portfolio and lender relationships.
  • Preparation of Lender notes and renewals
  • Lender interest payments and interest entries
  • Lender statements
  • T5 reconciliation and preparation
  • Assist with Budget Preparation
  • Assist with Special Projects

Salary: $68,000 – $77,000  annual salary based on education and experience. Indwell offers a competitive benefits package and RRSP contribution.   

 


Requirements & Prerequisites

Qualifications:

  • Should have, or is working towards, an accounting designation
  • Be proficient in MS Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be a strong team player with proven customer service skills and strong communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with various departments and programs
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and relationships as Indwell continues to grow
  • Must have a high degree of integrity
  • Embraces the vision and mission of Indwell and lives out Indwell’s values in the workplace

Education/Experience: 

  • College diploma or university degree in accounting is preferred
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience
  • Familiarity with property management and charities/not-for-profits is preferred
  • Experience with YARDI would be an asset
