Cable Installer
Job Description
We are seeking qualified Cable Technicians in the Hamilton Area for permanent, full time positions ($20+/hr.)
*Installation of voice and data networks and security systems cabling by running, pulling, terminating and splicing cables according to customer orders and technical specifications.
*Verifying services by testing, installing, repairing, replacing and upgrading cables and equipment and end-user devices.
*Install data equipment including cameras, card readers, racks and patch panels.
Requirements & Prerequisites
Candidates must possess the following:
*Must have previous knowledge and experience for successful structured cabling and network equipment installation.
*Must be proficient in reading technical drawings and able to complete end to-installation per specifications.
*Install cable pathway systems – cable trays, cable racks, cabinets
*CAT5e, CAT6, low voltage cables and Fiber.
*Ability to multi-task, to be able to lift, carry and set up equipment, typical for the job role.
*Maintain a safe environment by following codes, standards and legal requirements.
*Technical aptitudes, timeliness, reliable and strong work ethic.
*Excellent customer communication and service skills.
* Must work well in a leadership role and in team environment.
*Well groomed appearance.
- Manufacturers Installation Certification (Copper/Fiber) as asset
- Valid “G” Driver’s Licence Abstract to be insurable
- Criminal Background Check
- WHMIS Certificate would be an asset
- Working At Heights Certificate would be an asset
- Scissor Lift Operator Certificate would be an asset
- Occupational Health and Safety Act Safety 4 Steps Worker Health and Safety Awareness Certificate
- Other Provincially Mandated Safety courses would be an asset
- Experience installing Cameras, Access Control, Intrusion Alarms would be an asset
