Support Worker (Group Home)
Job Description
Our Agency provides residential supports for adult males diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are currently looking to recruit for full and part-time positions in a support worker role at our Caledonia, ON location.
Requirements:
- Ability to engage and support residents in community activities
- Implement assigned individual care plans
- Provide support to individuals who may require assistance with daily living skills, life skills, behavioural management, social skills and other areas
- Able to work 12hr shifts
- Residents rely heavily on staff to help them with personal care i.e showering
- Must have reliable transportation as we are not located near any public transportation routes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Administer medications
- Complete daily shift logs, incident reports, medication charts and other legal documents
- Comply with all policies and procedures as established by the agency
- Transport residents to and from appointments and community outings
- Attend appointments with residents
- Assist residents with daily hygiene routines and household chores
- Interact professionally with residents, parents and co-workers
Required Experience
- Child and Youth Worker or Social Service Worker or diploma in related field along with 12-months of working experience in the field considered an asset
- Experience in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) an asset
- Experience writing Plans of Care and Individualized support plans an asset
- Personal Support Workers with ability to case manage a client
- Experience with behavioural management systems (i.e., CPI, UMAB etc.,) an asset

Required Documentation
- Upon hire you will produce a valid Criminal Reference Check for Vulnerable Sector, a completed medical form with updated immunizations, proof of COVID-19 vaccinations, current First and CPR certifications, valid Ontario G class driver’s license in good standing with valid insurance.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $21/hr
Expected start date: March 1, 2022
