Job Summary: a part-time position that is flexible for mornings, afternoons, or evenings, on any 3 days of the week (From Monday to Friday); it is a care role, just to provide company to a lovely elderly lady. The candidate MUST SPEAK ITALIAN; preference is a female candidate, as per the client’s request.

Hours: Part-time

Days:

• 3 days each week (Monday to Friday) at your convenience

Example: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Shifts:

· 3 hours per day at your convenience (Morning, afternoon, or evening shifts)

Position: Italian-speaking Companion Caregiver (Companionship role; female candidate requested)

***Role Summary: Care for an elderly client in her home;engage with recreational activities/hobbies, enjoy a conversation, go grocery shopping together, etc.

Rate of pay: $18 to $19 per hour

Location: Stoney Creek, ON (Candidate must reside in Ontario, Canada)

Start date: October 29, 2021

Dress code: Casual attire (Must comply with dress code)

| Mandatory Qualifications |

1. Relevant education

• High school diploma

• First Aid + CPR (Current and valid) (Or, your commitment to obtain emergency first aid/CPR training during first week of employment)

2. Health and safety requirements

• Willingness to apply and obtain a valid police clearance certificate (Vulnerable Sector Screening)

• Covid vaccination (Full vaccination required: 2 doses)

• Seasonal flu shots (Annual dose is required)

• Willingness and ability to wear PPE (Masks, face shields, gloves, etc.)

3. Experience

• Experience as a Companion Caregiver/PSW/HCA is preferred, but not required

• Experience working with the vulnerable sector is preferred, but not required

4. Willingness to travel

• Take public transportation (Required)

i. or driver’s Licence, insurance, and access to motor vehicle (Recommended)

5. Work ethic

We provide:

  • Companionship and Homemaking Services – meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, errand services, recreational activities and companionship/conversation
  • Personal Care Services – bathing, grooming, mobility, transferring and positioning, feeding, incontinence care and medication reminders
  • Housekeeping Services – vacuuming, dusting, mopping and sweeping floors, bathrooms and kitchens
  • Transportation Services – taking clients to doctor appointments, shopping, etc.
  • We mainly service clients in their home, yet we also serve them at hospitals, retirement homes and long-term care facilities

Responsibilities and Duties

  • As listed above
  • Provide one-on-one care with Comfort Keepers clients
  • Follow guidelines of the Client Service/Care Plan
  • Ability to manage own schedule and get to and from clients on own and on time
  • Participate in mandatory team meetings and trainings
  • Comply with Comfort Keepers policies and procedures
  • Immediately document incidents and changes in client status to management team
  • Document in clients’ program files when appropriate
  • Understand the operations of the emergency response system and respond professionally to all emergency situations
