Job Description
Home Sweet Home Care For Seniors Inc. is a family owned and operated senior home care business. We provide care to Seniors in the comfort of their own home. Prior to the Covid pandemic we would also visit clients in retirement, nursing or hospital rooms.
We are looking for someone who is caring, quick thinking and extremely reliable.
The successful candidate will be available for evening and weekend shifts and be able to start immediately.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide personal care to client
Daily living activities, dressing, grooming etc.
Provide cognitive, social and/or emotional support to the client
Uses proper body mechanics and transfer techniques in order to carry out safe lifts and/or transfers
Meal preparation according to dietary and care plan instructions and clean up
Housekeeping such as cleaning, laundry, changing bedding
Taking clients to appointments, shopping and other outings
Reminders to take medications
Maintain a safe environment for both client and care worker
Document care in client’s communication book
Report any changes out of character for your client
Communicate with family in a courteous and professional manner
Requirements & Prerequisites
PSW or Home Care Worker Certificate
G Drivers license
Job Type: Part-time
Qualifications:
Current drivers abstract
Previous experience
Current first aid and CPR
Current criminal and vulnerable police clearance
Current 2 step Mantoux test (TB)
Hep. B Vaccine and Flu shot
Current Negative Covid 19 test
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Previous work experience with seniors
Ability to follow a client’s plan of care
